Follow up on the "Prisoner Women with Young Children” case to move to an open prison



Vice President of Women and Family Affairs, Massoumeh Ebtekar said, "We are ready to cooperate with the Judiciary to implement electronic bracelets and gadgets on some of the female prisoners who can use them."

On the sidelines of the visit to Shiraz Central Prison, Ebtekar said, "There is a beneficial cooperation with the Judiciary and the Prisons Organization regarding the situation of women in prison.”

The visit to Adel Abad Prison in Shiraz was the tenth visit to women's prison in Iran. Various areas have been visited, contributions have been made to the visited centers in different areas, and follow-ups have been carried out.

Massoumeh Ebtekar also added that a letter of agreement has been signed to cooperate with the judiciary on training prisoners, teaching life skills, as well as helping and empowering them.

Ebtekar stated, "Our goal is to follow the MoU, a judicial case for female prisoners kept in custody with young children, to be transferred to an open prison."

"The prison has its own hardship and, fortunately, beneficial measures have been taken in educating and rehabilitating prisoners to return to society," she said.
