A Report of Women in Management Positions in the Cabinet



At the meeting chaired by president Hassan Rouhani,a report of the appointment of women to public offices across the country was presented by the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs.

According to the report, women executives at all levels have increased from 13.7 percent in 2017 to 18.6 percent in 2019, and the appointment of female executives over the last two years has seen an overall 36% growth rate.

This report shows that female executives in the governor positions have increased from 6.2% to 9.2%  in the past two years and there has been an overall 48.7% increase in the number of female directors as provincial governors, governorates and prefectures over the past two years. 

A comparison between senior, middle and top managers over the last two years shows an increase in the top management sector from 2.5% to 5.5%, in the middle management sector from 6.9% to 9.3% and in the top management sector from  16.9% to 23%.

Another part of the report shows the lowest percentage of governors and female general managers in provinces of Iran are in Qom province and the highest in Bushehr province. 

After Bushehr, Gilan, Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari provinces, Hormozgan, Alborz, Semnan and Lorestan respectively had the highest numer of appointed female directors.

After Qom province, Khuzestan, East Azarbaijan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyerahmad, Khorasan Razavi and Isfahan provinces also had the least number of appointed female directors.
