Iranian canoeists bag 1 gold,3 silvers in Thailand World Cup



Iranian canoeists snatched 1 gold and 3 silver medals on the first day of 2017 International Canoe Federation (ICF) Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup which is underway in Thailand.

In women VL2 category, Roya Soltani defeated her Indian rival and grabbed a gold medal.

In women VL3 category, Shahla Behrouzi Rad overpowered Uzbekistan and received a silver medal.

In men KL2 category, Iran’s Islam Jahedi stood second and bagged the silver medal.

Iranian female canoeist, Roya Soltani also ranked second after her Japanese rival and received a silver medal in women KL2 category.

ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup is underway with the attendance of the representatives of seven Asian countries in Pattaya.

Canoeing is a sport or recreational activity which involves paddling a canoe with a single-bladed paddle. In some parts of Europe, canoeing refers to both canoeing and kayaking, with a canoe being called an Open canoe.
