Ebterkar referred to the background of cooperation between Iran and Iceland in economic, trade, cultural and social fields.

She also elaborated on development of women in Iran and also its role in promoting civil society.

Meanwhile, Thórdarson expressed willingness to dispatch a high-profile trade delegation to Iran to develop economic and trade ties between the two countries.

Ebtekar is in Reykjavik to attend Women Political Leaders Global Forum (WPL) which is underway in Iceland capital until Nov 30.

WPL is the global network of female politicians. The mission of WPL is to increase both the number and the influence of women in political leadership positions.

Its members are women in political office: ministers, members of parliaments, mayors.
