After a telephone conversation with the governor general of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Seyyed Danial Mohebi, Ebtekar emphasized once again the damages incurred by the delayed bill on combating violence against women.

She said: "The governor of Sistan and Baluchestan emphasized the need for full consideration of the issue of assault in Iranshahr."

The vice president for women and family has again called on the judiciary to pass the bill that counters violence against women. Ebtekar added: "I also appeal to the Islamic Consultative Assembly to ask the government to give priority to the bill to protect children and adolescents."

She expressed grave sadness because of the incident in Iranshahr. One important way that could help in preventing these unfortunate and unforgivable incidents is to support Social Emergency Response Centers and 123. She said: "All related devices should support social emergency interventions in light of the urgent need to stop social and psychological violence, physical assaults and provide psychological support for affected citizens."

Ebtekar reiterated that last month a letter was signed by her and the Iranian Minister for Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, Ali Rabiei, to support the governmental and non-governmental organization of 123 within the Ministry of Interior to deal with inhumane events.

The Ministry of the Interior, in pursuance of the letter from the two members of the 12th Cabinet, has written a letter to request all the provincial entry agencies, in particular the municipalities and the City and Village Councils of Iran, to consider the important aspects of supporting the Social Emergency Response Centers.
