The lady from Khoy village of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, who wore the crown of entrepreneurship from felt.
Felt souvenirs encouraged her to get on a path to reviving her local handicrafts, and now, after 10 years, she not only has an export order but also is a provider for several families.
These days, when many young people are complaining about unemployment and difficult economic conditions, some, such as Fatemeh Rahimi, the top entrepreneur of the fourth round of popular women entrepreneurs from Khoy village of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, among the felt products, which is a long-standing art in this land, she has found a way to achieve her ideals and aspirations.
Like other young people, she looked for a job after graduation but was not successful. At the same time, a friend from Kyrgyzstan brought her a felt bag, which sparked a revival of her village felt products and global development.
On the occasion of the 6th of October, The Village and Nomads Day, the correspondent of IRNA Women and Family Affairs talked to this lady who has the UNESCO Seal of Excellence for the felt product; A woman who has not only been selected as the top entrepreneur of the fourth round of popular selection of women entrepreneurs from Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province of Khoy village but has also been able to create employment for more than 75 people in the field of felt handicrafts.
In this interview, Fatemeh Rahimi, a member of the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province Elite Foundation, stating that I was the first person to make a seat, front dashboard, and the headrest of the car with felt, which led to receiving the UNESCO seal of excellence, said, "After that, I received eight national awards for product quality and innovation for making felt products."
Rahimi, who won the title of exemplary craftswoman in 1393 and the title of the economically capable woman from Shahr-e Kord governorate in the 10th International Conference on Women Entrepreneurship, reminded, "I presented the products in the exhibitions and when I was met with an incomparable commend from the people, I thought of developing the products."
This top popularly elected entrepreneur by saying that Coronavirus has now caused the labor market and exhibitions to stagnate and fewer investors to move in this direction, said, "There are 28 female tailors and eight people behind the felt machine, and others are working as marketers."
She described the need for women entrepreneurs as government support and raising capital, saying that women, with their special abilities, could produce the best and revive indigenous and national handicrafts, provided that the obstacles ahead of them are removed and financial support is descended to them.
According to the 1390 census, about 448,000 of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari's population of 970,000 are women. About 10.18 percent of the population is employed and the rest are unemployed, and women in the province make up 13 percent of the gender composition of office workers. Also, out of 35,000 industrial workshops in the province, between 3 and 4% of the working population are women.
