The Vice President for Women and Family Affairs said, "Unfortunately, there are cases in the field of acid spraying in the country that will not be prosecuted after the crime. Political reasons or power may prevent it from being pursued, which is a matter of concern and regret. When Mr. Raeesi came into power, hopes were raised that he would be involved in these issues and any crime, especially the issue of acid spraying, which is one of the ugliest and the most violent behaviors."
Dr. Ebtekar added, "We have the law of aggravation of punishment and the law is clear on this issue. A law that has been approved by the parliament and the Guardian Council, and it is a matter of intensifying the perpetrators of acid attacks, but why do we see it being repeated? One reason is that some people may think that they are immune to such behaviors, either using sacred titles or political titles, that is, using a political shield or a sacred shield to justify their crimes and behaviors."
She also emphasized, "It is not the dignity of our Islamic and religious society that such behaviors remain unpunished and without justice. These distort the public mind and conscience towards the principle of justice. Therefore, it is a very important issue, especially the cases that have been repeated have hurt the consciences again."
In the end, she reminded, "In these cases, justice must be administered without regard to marginal issues so that some people do not think that they are safe on the margins and a certain person, group or current support them. This requires the explicit order of the esteemed head of the judiciary to deal with cases such as the acid attack in Isfahan, which has hurt public opinion."
