During the last month, the ClubHouse social network has become very popular with Iranian users. To the extent that this platform has replaced the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and press conferences. In response to a user question about to what extent the president's promises regarding women in 1392 and 1396 were fulfilled, the Vice President for Women and Family Affairs said, "The question was, to what extent have the president's promises regarding women been fulfilled? One of the most important issues is the presence of women in decision-making. We must have several women ministers. The characteristics of the gender gap are still present. But if our women are not able to make all levels of decision-making, from the city council to the level of a village to the level of the ministry and to the level of decisions that are made in a province, the existence of several women ministers becomes only symbolic."
She also added, "What Mr. Rouhani's administration did, and was done by the order and follow-up of the President himself in the last 4 years, was that 8,000 competent and capable women who were previously deprived of promotion due to glass ceilings were promoted and entered the fields of middle management and they even became excellent managers."
In another part, she said, "What happened during Mr. Rouhani's administration was that the number of five female deputy ministers has now risen to about 96 people equal to the deputy minister. From the absence of women as deputy governors today, we have reached 17 female deputy governors. 17 strong women who are not symbolic and ceremonial. These women are the deputy governor, the financial administration deputy, the support deputy, and all the provincial problems and the budget and the issues of the province are left to these women."
Dr. Ebtekar reminded, "We now have 53 female governors, while we did not have a female governor at all. These women in the district are showing the empowerment of women in different parts of the country. Or in the discussion of the female ambassador, now the fifth female ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been appointed. Dr. Ershadi has been appointed as the second person of the United Nations. She was the fifth female ambassador. We did not have a female ambassador before. We have 96 people equal to the deputy minister, which means that capacity building has been formed. Statistics are available and available to everyone."
Jalil Mohebbi from the Research Center of the Islamic Consultative Assembly also said, "It is said that the bill (fighting violence against women) has been suspended in the parliament for 3 months. After the bill was returned from the judiciary, it was suspended in the government for 1 year. You have not read the law and those who wrote the bill for you tricked you. The bill reduced some of the current penalties for discrimination against women. I'm surprised that you claim that we want to reduce discrimination. You reduced the punishments that Mr. Karroubi passed in the Fourth Assembly. Punishments that do not have sufficient deterrence against crime. You say something in general when you stand behind the podium, but you have to say why did you not increase Article 612's punishment?"
Dr. Ebtekar explained in response, "All topics were collective work. It was suspended in the judiciary for almost two years because Mr. Amoli Larijani was advised about the bill and it was suspended until finally when Mr. Raeesi came, the situation changed a lot. This bill is now a joint bill of the judiciary and the government, and it has not even been announced for 3 months. This non-declaration of receipt is against the constitution. Bills are coming from the government that the parliament does not announce. I think the president has given a constitutional warning as to why these bills will not be announced."
